Our patients are our neighbors and friends, family and loved ones, who have real life worries and fears.  How will this symptom change or alter lives and lifestyles?  How will it impact relations within families?  And how, AND WHEN, will it get better?

At  Comprehensive Neurology we strive to know our patients as people with lives beyond their symptoms.  That is why our visits are not timed in the traditional sense.  We do not adhere to time constraints which deny a person time from talking to us, reviewing the history, and answering as many questions as they may have.  Because Dr. Yacoub is independent and the sole practitioner—a unique circumstance for a specialist in this age of managed care—there are no obligations to “group” standards of “volume of patients seen in a day” and administrative management which would take away from the visit.   This places Dr. Yacoub in the unique and novel position of working for his patients, rather than for the benefit of the group.   This is medicine as it was, and was meant to be.
We are based in Newark, Delaware and are just minutes away from Christiana Hospital.  Comprehensive Neurology has been treating the neurological needs in the area since 2001.  We are Delaware’s alternative to large group neurology practices so that patients and their families have an alternative to technology-driven impersonal neurologic care now so prevalent throughout the region.

Our neurophysiology suite has a full service, state of the art, on-site testing facility for nerve and muscle disorders, seizure evaluation, and sleep disturbances.  Dr. Yacoub is one of Delaware’s only pediatric and adult fellowship trained clinical neurophysiologists.
